The European Day of Languages is celebrated every year on September 26th. With our pupils of the talent based course ‘eTwinning’ we did a eTwinning project about the Eurovision Song Contest. We believe it should be as it was before – each country representative should sing in his/her mother tongue. And we proceeded like that!
First, each group of students from the participating schools did a brainstorm about their own country.
Then they searched for a well known song in their mother tongue. Our Belgian students choose the melody of the song ‘Verover mij’ from Niels Destadsbader. After that, they started writing the text which included a lot of typical cultural elements of their country.
When the writing was finished they started singing and being creative! Mister Stef Goosens did the singing with the kids of the musical club during lunch break.
The final performance was recorded and turned into a nice (Kizoa) video clip.
All movies from different countries were shared in the Twinspace.
